Privacy Policy

GymAmor ("we", "our", or "us") operates the GymAmor iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Account Information — Name and email address you provide when you create an account or sign in, including through Sign in with Apple.
• Workout Data — Exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout duration, and program progress that you log within the app.
• Health & Fitness Data — Data read from or written to Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission, such as active energy, workout records, and heart rate.
• Body Metrics — Weight, body fat percentage, and other measurements you choose to enter.
• Profile Data — Athletic profile, training goals, sport, and equipment preferences.
• AI Coach Conversations — Messages you exchange with the AI coaching feature.
• Social and Calendar Data — Your profile, follows, workout-sharing choices, posts and comments, and the coach calendars you join or leave. We also store personal changes you make to joined sessions, such as moving or hiding them.
• Purchase and Diagnostics Data — Subscription entitlement and transaction information needed to provide paid features (the product, purchase, renewal and expiry dates, trial or billing-retry status, and Apple's transaction identifiers, never your card details), plus crash and performance diagnostics.
• Location Data — Collected only while the app is in use and only with your permission. We use it to show nearby gyms, to record gym check-ins you choose to make, and to draw the route of an outdoor cardio workout. Cardio routes stay on your device; check-ins are saved to your account.
• Photos — Photos you add to a workout, a progress entry, or a challenge, taken with the camera or picked from your library. We access only the photos you choose. A photo on a workout shared with Only You stays on your device. A photo on a workout you share with Followers or Everyone is uploaded so that audience can see it, and it is deleted from our storage when you remove it or stop sharing that workout.
• Voice Input — When you speak a question to the coach, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text you can edit before sending. We do not store the audio; only the text you send becomes part of your coach conversation.
• Usage Events — Records of actions in the app, such as starting or finishing a workout, setting a reminder, or opening a screen, together with the app version and platform. They are linked to your account so we can see which features help people keep training. We do not use them for advertising.
• Notification Data — If you allow notifications, the device token Apple provides so we can send you reminders and coach calendar updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the GymAmor service.
• Power the AI coaching feature by sending your messages to our AI provider for processing.
• Personalize your workouts, including the suggestions you see.
• Track your workout history, personal records, and progress over time.
• Show nearby gyms and fitness centers via gym discovery.
• Enable optional social features such as the activity feed and leaderboards, and deliver sessions and updates from coach calendars you choose to join.
• Communicate with you about your account and app updates.

3. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — Cloud database (PostgreSQL) and authentication. Your account data, workout logs, and cloud backups are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• AI service providers — Power the AI coach and help personalize your workouts. They receive the messages you send the coach and limited workout information, process them only on our behalf, and do not use them to train their models. Do not include information in coach messages that you do not want processed by these providers.
• Sentry — Receives crash, error, and performance diagnostics so we can find and fix problems. We configure the app not to attach default personally identifying information to these reports.
• Apple App Store — Processes in-app subscription purchases and renewals. We receive the information needed to recognize your entitlement, not your full payment-card details.
• Apple HealthKit — We read and write health data only with your explicit permission. HealthKit data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for purposes beyond providing the GymAmor service to you.
• Apple MapKit — Used for gym discovery. Location queries are processed by Apple's mapping services.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in two places: locally on your device via SwiftData, and in the cloud via Supabase (PostgreSQL). Our service providers, including our AI service providers, may process your data outside Canada, including in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. What Other People and Coaches Can See

Your workout log is not automatically posted. When you share a workout, you choose its audience: Only You, Followers, or Everyone. A shared workout may show its exercises and totals. Its sets, reps, weights, warm-ups, and numerical personal records stay private by default; you can turn on Share full detail for an individual workout. A record badge may appear without its number. Your notes are not part of the default shared detail. Following someone, or being followed, does not by itself expose your private workout history.

Joining a coach calendar adds its future sessions and updates to your calendar. The coach can see aggregate subscriber counts when publishing. Joining alone does not give the coach a list of your private workouts, completed sets, weights, or personal changes to scheduled sessions. If you separately share a workout with an audience that includes the coach, they can see what that share allows. Leaving stops future calendar updates; completed workouts remain in your history. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect safety or legal rights.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your account in the app's Account Settings, or contact us for help. Deletion removes your account and associated app data, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, or transaction-record obligations. If you have an App Store subscription, cancel it separately in iOS Settings; deleting the account does not cancel Apple billing.
• Export your data — Request a copy of your workout data by contacting us.
• Control sharing — Change your profile and workout audience settings, stop sharing a workout, unfollow someone, or leave a coach calendar in the app.
• Revoke HealthKit access — Manage permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

GymAmor is for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 16 to create an account or use the App. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will take steps to close it and delete the associated personal information, subject to any records we must retain by law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes before they take effect, including through an in-app notice or email where appropriate. The updated policy will show its effective date.
